Business Cards!

Check out the business cards I got from Vistaprint! What do you think?

Numbers in BookCases

If you order a BookCase, you may notice that somewhere on the inside there's a number written. It will start with BC (for BookCase) and then be followed by two different numbers which indicate what number your particular BookCase is, and the year it was made. For example, my personal BookCases are numbered : BC01-12 and BC02-12, because they were the first and second BookCases made in 2012. This mostly helps me keep track of where my BookCases go. (Number 03 is in Yardley, PA, and number 04 is in Utah!) But hey, wouldn't it be cool to have one of the first 10, 20, or even 100 BookCases ever made? ; )

Ray Bradbury BookCase

Finally! Here's some pictures of the Ray Bradbury BookCase that was sent all the way to Utah! I love, love, love it. : )

On our way!

The first custom-ordered BookCase was finished and hand delivered last Saturday. It was made from the beautiful Barnes & Noble hardcover classics edition of "To Kill a Mockingbird". In all the excitement, I completely forgot to take pictures before I sent it along with its new owner! Hopefully when I get pictures from the lovely young woman who bought it, I'll be able to post them on here for you to see.

I also finished the Ray Bradbury BookCase, which will be heading off to Utah shortly. Pictures will be posted in the next couple of days. I'm really please with how it turned out!

About Me (the maker of BookCases)

I suppose since you're learning a bit about what a BookCase is, you may like to know a little about their creator. Since I have a tendency to over-write, I think I'll give you some quick facts in list form. (Who doesn't love a good list?)

  • My name is Amanda, and I'm a 23 year old Bibliophile from Pennsylvania.
  • I have loved books for as long as I can remember, and I'm often reading several at one time.
  • I wrote a novel for the first time during last year's National Novel Writing Month, and successfully reached the goal of 50,000 words from scratch in one month. I plan on participating again this year and beating my previous word count.
  • There is almost always a book with me, even if I know I may not get the chance to read.
  • My bookshelves are literally overflowing, and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever have enough room for all of my books (the collection never stops growing!)
  • My favorites authors include: Markus Zusak, John Green, Jonathan Safran Foer, and several others.
  • I can never really pick a favorite book, but "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak is definitely a top choice.
I hope you learned a little about me and my love of reading. Don't be afraid to ask questions if there's anything else you'd like to know! I'm an open book! ; )

I'm gonna need more supplies!

I've got a stack of 6 cool old hardcovers and 3 new ones ready and waiting to be transformed into a BookCase! It's really quite exciting. : )
